Each body of work is defined by the art of seeing.
When I was a student at Sarah Lawrence College in the 1950's, abstract art was evident all over the NYC scene. The visual impression on me was dynamic. As students we were required to see as much as we could and to integrate what we saw into our own work. It was an exciting time and continues to light a fire in my work today.
"Art isn't easy", as the song goes, but no matter which route I take, its always exciting.
